Since I bought my first 35mm film camera back in grade 9, I had no idea I'd build a passion for photography as I have now. I took photography classes for 3yrs through high school under the teaching of Felix Russo the owner and editor of PhotoEd magazine. Every year would attend the Nikon School of Photography when it came to Toronto. During that time I was one of the photographers for our school year book but what I enjoyed the most was spending Sundays at Maple Leaf Gardens taking photos of the Marlies before they moved to Newfoundland.
I went through a time where the camera wasn't a large part of my life but once my boy started playing hockey 11yrs ago my joy of photography came back. Since then I've had many opportunities to work on, practice and improve my photography. I've covered many events like Supercross, Snocross, Rogers Cup, Canadian Grand Prix, Toronto Indy, Canadian Touring Car Championships, and the Nascar Truck Series. I've been published in Etobicoke Life Newspaper, City of Etobicoke Course magazine, Barrie Examiner, Barrie Advance, Orangeville Tribune, Hockey Now magazine, PhotoEd magazine and Tennis Now magazine and online feed.
I joined the Ontario Junior Hockey League Images crew 3 years ago which has been a great experience shooting Jr A hockey for the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Everyone from my Director of Photography, Conference Directors and all my fellow photographers have helped to push me to make my photos better every time I shoot. Around the same time I also joined our factory based race team at Honda of Canada Manufacturing called Velocity Motorsport Club. I shoot all their photos throughout the year updating their Facebook and Twitter accounts. I have also recently started taking photos for Honda of Canada Manufacturing covering events for them internally. My latest connection as of last year was being given the opportunity to shoot for Corleve Media out of Australia. It started with the Rogers Cup last year, next will be the World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto. Hopefully this becomes a great connection that carries me on to another level in the future. My ultimate dream as a photographer would be to shoot all the Grand Slam tennis tournaments, fingers crossed!!
